I tend to be all over the board in terms of how I decorate from year to year. For the sake of my budget I decided to keep things pretty simple and neutral when it came to our fall decorations. I went heavy on white and gold with some touches of black and green.
Other than the gold pumpkins and mask, everything can be reused throughout the year without maintaining a fall/Halloween vibe. I used some black scrap book paper with a crocodile scale texture to cover our regular bird picture. Again, another cheap update that can be reused.
I feel like the dark faux berries and droopiness of the cream stems helps to make it feel a bit more seasonal and moody/dreary than it would be otherwise. I also made the call to spray paint all of the fake pumpkins and gourds gold. Michael's had a 40-50% off sales going on a few weeks back and I grabbed a bag of 6 for around $4.
The milky mercury vase was a interesting DIY that turned out better than expected, I'll share the details in a post next week. I have a mound of things in our office that need some spray paint assistance...it's getting large and I keep adding to it.
Do you have any other tips for cheap seasonal decorating? Anyone else already brainstorming Christmas ideas? Who has a list of things to paint that is a mile long?
Happy Tuesday Friends!
