You can probably tell from the picture that we are gravitating towards something white and rectangular. Basically any variation of subway tile makes my heart skip a beat. I’ve been known to be a lover of neutrals and this is no exception. I would rather dress up a room with accessories that can be rotated over time than be stuck with a fad tile that would actually take work to change.
I couldn’t find a tag in this model kitchen so I don’t know the price and specs but I absolutely love this look! I like the idea of a slight variation in color among tiles and I think this pulls off that look swimmingly! Unfortunately, our wall color is going to be a very light gray and I don’t think there will be enough of a contrast between it and this beautiful tile.
I love this micro glass subway tile (probably not it’s proper name but that’s what we’ll go with). This one still has the color variation like the previous except it’s glass and the individual tiles are much smaller. So many colors could work with this, you wouldn’t even have to stick with neutrals and it would still be stellar!
The only difference between this one and the previous is the sheen. This one is quite a bit more shiny whereas the previous has a matte finish. Personally, I like them both but I favor the matte. I also think this lacks some of the color variation that I’ve been talking about but I also find this one calming. I couldn’t totally see this in a bathroom, it’s very soothing and makes me think of water.
I have mixed feelings about this one. Is it pretty, oh heck yes. Is it a neutral and rectangular, yep. Do I love it, meeehhh. More than anything, I just feel like there are other options I like more. I say all of that but if I sit here and stare at that picture I can imagine it looking beautiful in our kitchen with our new butcher-block countertops. This one has me stumped!
Talking about being fun and budget friendly! I saw these and just had to take a picture. The blue is my favorite but if we were to use one in our kitchen we would have to go with the off white color. They’re both still neutral and classic but they also have some spunk! I also prefer the tiles to be offset like the navy for some depth & dimension. I may be making another trip to ask if these can be used as floor tiles as well…"I got vision…” (can anyone finish that quote?!?!)
Ahh yes, welcome to heaven. This is probably my favorite for the space I have in mind, the kitchen. I like the wave in the tile and that it’s surface isn’t flat. Other than that everything is clean, simple, and classic. A nice gray grout next to some dark BB countertops, yep, that’s perfection!
I have not been paid or perked for this post. I simply wanted to share my Tile Shop adventure. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Come tile my kitchen next?!? Pretty please?!?
ReplyDeleteLol - will do!
DeleteLove this! I'm addicted to tile but I don't want to pay the price for it. I did just discover subway tiles at home depot that are on the backing sheets.... its like a square foot for $3. I asked the guy what the catch was and he just looked at me like I was crazy.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on the cost aspect! Right now I'm just looking around for ideas. We don't want anything too pricey right now since we plan on a complete gut job in 5-7 years...$$$ permitting :)
DeleteI wish I had a tile shop - so much goodness! I love the slighly wavy subway tile. Subway tile is just classic and I like that the texture is a little unusual. I also want to do my ENTIRE bathroom in that blue square tile - so fun!
ReplyDeleteThis was my first visit! I've been looking at their website for months but finally just decided to go on my lunch break one day. I'm in love with that blue square tile too!
